After a career as a leader in the institutional investments industry, I transitioned my career toward finance, where I have developed expertise in accounting processes and systems, financial planning & analysis, and organizational & team leadership. I built my career over 25 years as an investment professional with the Virginia Retirement System, where I served my final seven years as the Director of Fixed Income. I followed my career at VRS by taking on various consulting and financial leadership roles with both public and private organizations. My experience spans managing teams of professionals, establishing policies and strategic vision, researching and implementing proprietary and third-party solutions, and maintaining multi-million dollar budgets. In addition to being a Certified SCORE Mentor, I have also served my local government in various volunteer capacities, including as the Chair of the Treasurer’s Finance Board and as the President of the Education Foundation.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, a Master’s Degree in Management Information Technology, and I have nearly completed my MBA at the University of Mary Washington. I am also a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Institute, and a dedicated volunteer in my community.
