I retired in 2004, as an economic consultant for Deloitte. Previously, I was with Arthur Andersen and the Federal government. During my Government career, I was at the Presidents Council of Economic Advisors, Department of Commerce, Senate Budget Committee, Congressional Research Service of the Library of Congress, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. I specialized in economic tax and policy issues, industrial organization, and international competitiveness. In addition, I had special assignments with the, the Presidents Executive Exchange Program where I was assigned to IBM, and I was Co-director of a joint Harvard University-Council on Competitiveness project investigating the time horizons of American Industry. I have represented the U.S. Government at conferences throughout the world including: the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the U.S. delegation to China in 1980, and the United States Information Agency. My responsibilities included analyzing tax provisions and developing Administration economic policy positions on economic restructuring, banking deregulation, international trade, the automobile and nuclear equipment industries, and revisions of Federal Credit policies.
