I understand the opportunities and challenges of owning a small business in Minnesota after owning a business in the automotive industry for 12 years. I became a small business owner after a 20 year career working for large corporations in the financial services sector.

My education is finance and accounting with an MBA. I started my career as a commercial banker (for Norwest/Wells Fargo and 1st Bank/USBank) and continued my career in marketing within the financial services arena for other large corporations (GreenTree Financial, American Express).

I left "Corporate America" early 2009 to buy an existing (financially distressed) auto repair shop in Rosemount MN. The shop became successful through marketing and better financial and operational management. I acquired a 2nd (again, financially distressed) shop in Woodbury MN in 2017, selling the business in 2019. I closed the Rosemount shop in 2020 for a number of reasons including COVID and the eventual development of my leased building.
