I started my property tax consulting business in 1987, built it over the next 35 years and in 2022 sold to the largest competitor in our industry. I feel sharing the experiences I've had from starting a business, building it in a very competitive environment for our industry for 35 years and then developing and executing an exit strategy will hopefully have some value for SCORE clients.

I've had my own consulting business for more than 35 years, so I have some idea about starting and maintaining a small business. I'm a marketer, business developer, and salesperson. I've also managed and led marketing teams, developed and implemented business plans, and coached small businesses and individuals on being more effective marketers and business developers. I am also an independent marketing strategy consultant (see matjammarketing.com) My industry experience has been in the service sector.

I am financially literate and can help clients assess company finances, create budgets, and understand risks. I'm skilled in communication, management, conflict resolution, group dialogue facilitation, and negotiation.
