With my experience in Finance and Accounting, I am looking forward to helping clients refine their business plans, accounting set ups, budgeting, securing funding, etc.
My experience as a small business owner and employee give me a broad and understanding perspective for small to medium size businesses. My career started off in agriculture as a producer. This led to a lengthy career in the trucking industry as a manager and owner. Following the trucking business, I owned a small convenience store with gas. Again, I operated it as the owner/manager. I rounded out my career as an advisor for the Small Business Development Center in Victoria, Texas, helping over 800 diverse clients and businesses.

Less than 10% of new businesses survive past the first year. SCORE’s mission is to help you beat the odds by helping you launch a business built to succeed in today's dynamic business environment.
As a manager/owner of a small business one must wear a number of different hats. Even though the business is small it will require the same attention to finances, marketing, personnel, etc. as a large company. With my experience as a CPA and small business owner I understand these needs and can help SCORE clients address these various areas and assist in setting priorities and instituting best practices from the beginning.
Fear is the number one thing that holds us back from success and keeps the majority of the working population chained to a job they don’t love. This is what sets entrepreneurs apart. While everyone has fears, it is how you deal with your fear that makes a difference.
As a small business owner, it can be difficult to determine the true potential of an idea when you’re examining its pros and cons within the echo chamber of your own mind.
