With 30+ years of experience in business and operations, across 6 different industries working for companies ranging in size from large Fortune 50 companies to small companies that are privately held, or private equity backed, I have witnessed the struggles of running a successful business to include but not limited to organizational design, cashflow, cost management, tight labor markets, and poor topline growth. That is why I have chosen to mentor with SCORE.
My experience encompasses senior leadership roles across diverse fields such as engineering, systems integration, software development, manufacturing, education, and youth development. I was a professor at a local university for 13 years teaching economics, entrepreneurship, and finance. I’ve had my own small business providing consulting and IT infrastructure services since 2013.
Having made a lot of good decisions and a few bad ones over a long business career, I want to help folks start and grow successful companies. I hope to guide people towards what will work and away from what may not. My thirty years of running a small business that I started from scratch and eventually sold have given me a lot of experience that I would like to pass on.
My work experience has been broad and extends from front line developer to VP C-level, including technical product management, product marketing, strategic and tactical planning, startup business development, startup fundraising, executive and team leadership, information services and technology management, software and hardware development, customer service management, call center management, international logistics and shipping, international joint venture company operations, and military service.
