Maria and Butch Aggen are passionate about childhood education. Their interest in creating an inspiring, nurturing learning environment led them to become Goddard School franchisees in 2007. Since that time, their award-winning business has become one of the most successful arms of the overarching corporation. The Aggens have 40 employees focused on providing a top-notch educational experience for children while remaining collaborative with their parents. Services include classroom programs for infants through fifth grade, daycare, summer camp, before- and after-school care, and educational events.

My successes.

The Aggens have received numerous accolades. Their awards include being named the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year, being honored by the state of Texas with the Governor’s Small Business Award, and winning the Best Childcare Award from Hill Country News. They also have the distinction of being the only private preschool in Texas that is accredited by both NAC and AdvancED. Furthermore, their company is the only preschool in Texas that has been named an “Exemplar School” by the Partnership for 21st Century Learning.

What's great about my mentor?

The Goddard School had little name recognition in Cedar Park when it was first launched. The Aggens also faced competition from other childcare businesses within their market. Over time they not only built the brand, but also flourished as one of the most recognized and awarded businesses in their state.

SCORE workshops and mentorship opportunities continue to help the Aggens grow their company. “We are constantly striving to excel and improve and felt SCORE mentoring would assist us in that effort,” says Butch Aggen.
