Carolyn Wright-Thomas is (Retired) Founder & CEO of Essential Business Services Group, Inc.
Based in Southfield, MI , the firm provided administrative, management and operational support
services to an impressive roster of small businesses, corporations, high-profile entrepreneurs
and non-profit organizations for 17-years. Wright-Thomas also acquired 51% of a local
promotional products company during that time to provide professional marketing, printing and
promotional services to new and existing clients. Working mainly in the automotive industry with
Tier II & III suppliers, Wright-Thomas and EBS Group became a go to for strategic planning
around diverse procurement and sourcing.
Early in her career, Wright-Thomas was on the corporate fast track in Accounting & Finance.
She was employed as a Credit Manager for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) in
Berlin, Germany (before the fall of the Berlin Wall). Returning to Detroit after 4-years in Europe,
she worked as an Accounts Payable Analyst, North American Disbursements at Ford Motor
Company in Dearborn.
Today, Wright-Thomas is happily retired and enjoys spending time with family, traveling and
volunteering with SCORE. She strongly believes that the SCORE mission is very important to
the economic advancement of all communities. Helping the next generation of entrepreneurs
navigate the challenges of business ownership is paramount.
