I can help with creation, development and implementation of a small food service business as well as management of the operation. I created and started a frozen yogurt shop in Portsmouth, NH in1989 with two partners. At the time, TCBY franchises were being opened everywhere and our plan was to compete with them at a portion of their startup expense. In the first three years, I secured an SBA loan and bought my partners out of the business. Since our opening day, I have managed the operation from soup to nuts. I have extensive experience with hiring the right staff and all my employees return season after season. We started as a year round establishment and now have a six month season. We are very active in the community and I have served on a variety of local boards. During the winter months, I manage a small nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide food, gifts and clothing for families in need at the holidays. After volunteering for the organization for twelve years, I took over the management responsibilities four years ago. I coordinate our volunteer staff, donor and client communications and general operation. I started my work life at a public relations office as an office manager so I have an understanding of public relations.
