With the value of his SCORE mentoring and Ross's ability to be coachable, Ross realized his vision of expanding his business. He expanded geographically into the Greater Hartford area and to other lines of business by forming Saratoga Partners LLC. His thriving business now includes residential and commercial construction, home automation, and general contracting. He also has specialized in the design installation and maintenance of security and safety-related items in the high-end residential and commercial markets. As Russ says. "If it's wired we do it".
Ross Buckley has been a small business owner for 30 years and a SCORE client since 2000. He originally founded Buckley Electric & Automation LLC in 1988 in Fairfield County, CT. After establishing this successful local business, Ross's vision was to expand into other lines of business. In addition, for both personal and professional reasons, he wanted to establish a presence in the Greater Hartford area.
Ross worked with various SCORE mentors to turn his vision into reality. Ross felt that this SCORE mentoring team provided a lot of value. He found the team to be insightful, encouraging, and knowledgeable. Ross felt that the most important aspect of working with his SCORE mentors was twofold. First, it was their focus on challenging him to set expectations that would be realistically achievable. The second was that the expectations took him out of his comfort zone.
Ross expects to continue his beneficial relationship with Score as he continues to take advantage of business opportunities in the years ahead.
