My successes.

This Little Piggy has been open since November of 2014 and has been featured in an article in The Pilot Newspaper and in a national magazine article in It's A Kids World Magazine.

This beautiful little shop has a lot to offer the residents of AberdeenSouthern PinesPinehurstCarthage, Seven Lakes, West End, Cameron, VassRobbinsPinebluff, Hamlet, Whispering PinesRaefordFayettevilleRaleigh, and more. We try to make certain that philanthropic companies and women-owned companies always have a place in the shop and choose products based not only on their price and popularity but also on what the companies are doing to make the world a better place.

Her specialty boutique is known for offering a unique inventory of children’s clothing, natural parenting products, and toys that are not typically found elsewhere.

How SCORE helped.

“I had never owned a business,” Ailer said, of her decision to reach out to the SCORE Sandhills Chapter, a free resource service staffed by volunteer mentors. “They were able to set up a time to meet with me relatively quickly and help me navigate what I needed to know.

For Ailer, she reached out to the local chapter even before she purchased This Little Piggy, her baby and children’s boutique located in downtown Aberdeen.

“What they offer is advice. They helped me to review the numbers before I bought the business and then through the transition. They told me things to watch out for, which was helpful because I was able to steer clear. You always want to avoid the pitfalls,” she said.

“God puts people in our path when we need it, and (SCORE) was definitely placed in my path when I needed direction on what to do and where to go,” said Ailer. “They were honest with me and I still think about their advice when I’m feeling tossed by the waves.

How Did Your Business Get Started?

This Little Piggy Baby and Children's Boutique is a quaint little boutique in beautiful, historic Downtown Aberdeen, North Carolina. It is located in a historic building that housed a lady's dress shop from 1926-1995. The building has been restored and boasts beautiful original tin ceilings, gorgeous original hardwood flooring, and built-in shelving and racks from the original dress shop.

My Challenges

She is a mom and a military spouse with eight years of experience in finance: in other words, Noga Ailer is capable of handling just about anything life throws at her. But when the opportunity to purchase a boutique in Aberdeen came along, this budding entrepreneur sought out expert advice.
