Although I have been in the building business since 1964, the past 42 years have been as a construction executive. I feel my broad range of experience allows me to grasp all aspects of small business and its daily routines; from bidding, finance, staffing, human resources, scheduling, management and sales, to long and short-term planning goals. The challenges are endless in small business, and experience is a factor in success. When I started my business 39 years ago, it was with a small amount of cash and a strong will to survive. I have since built a multi-million dollar first generation construction business, bringing affordable building practices to the RI market. My company also worked all over New England in fulfilling clients' programs for multi-national accounts; but in recent years, we made a choice to focus our efforts on enhancing and improving the affordable housing demands in the RI market. As of late, I have decided to pass the corporate baton on to my partner and his staff, giving them the opportunity to continue the traditions we have set out for the almost 40 years in business. From this time forward, I am the President of Point Associates, LLC, which will provide business development support for startup businesses in the shelter and built environment. I am looking forward to this opportunity to continue to give back and be an asset in my endeavors with SCORE and my new business as they are separate, but with one philosophy, to give back to those in need of support in making their dreams and aspirations come to fruition.
