

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was launched in March 2020 as part of the passage of the CARES Act with funding for forgivable loans for small businesses. These loans are designed to help them keep employees on payroll and cover expenses like rent, mortgage, utilities, and other covered expenses (like PPE) to help them get back in business once the COVID crisis subsides.
Congress expanded the program in the stimulus legislation signed by the President on December 27, 2020. It now offers three types of PPP loans:
