Reimagine Main Street, an initiative of the Public Private Strategies Institute, was launched in the wake of the shelter-in-place orders first announced in March 2020. They support a network of small business advocates, service providers, and lenders with data-driven insights into the needs and expectations of small business owners.
Reimagine Main Street has partnered with community organizations and Meta to provide $2 million in cash grants to help business owners stabilize, innovate, and grow. The COVID-19 pandemic created challenges for many business owners; several still deal with the ongoing impact. To assist in recovery, this grant opportunity is to provide cash grants and other resources to small businesses that are Asian and Pacific Islander American-owned.
Why AAPI Entrepreneurs?
The COVID-19 pandemic hit Asian and Pacific Islander American entrepreneurs across the country hard. Small business owners have had to pivot their models or shift gears completely, and AAPI-owned businesses have also faced increased xenophobia and bigotry. Economic barriers and biases can often stifle the growth and innovation that AAPI entrepreneurs can bring to our economy. These grants and resources can fuel the aspirations and boost the trajectory of more than 100 Asian and Pacific Islander American entrepreneurs across the United States.
$10,000 cash awards to give a boost to 40 AAPI business owners who launched their businesses during the pandemic
$25,000 cash awards to 60 AAPI business owners who launched prior to the pandemic and made it through, where a cash grant could help take their vision to the next level.
The application closes at 11:59 PM on July 26, 2022. For more information and eligibility, visit the Reimagine Main Street FAQ page.
