Randall Brett is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and before the Federal Courts in New Jersey. His practice areas include business and commercial law, corporate governance, negotiation of commercial agreements, and employment law.
In the business and commercial law arena, Mr. Brett focuses on representing buyers and sellers of businesses, resolving complex commercial matters, and representing clients in a wide variety of business negotiations. He acts as outside General Counsel to several small business clients in the tri-state area.
In his employment law practice, Mr. Brett has represented clients in both federal and state courts, litigating employment claims under Title VII, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act. He has represented clients in response to administrative charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights.
In addition to being a practicing attorney, Randall Brett served for several years as a member of the adjunct faculty of Rutgers University School of Law, where he taught courses on Starting and Forming a Business and Employment Litigation. He has written several articles on business issues for legal and business journals and regularly speaks on various legal issues before business and education groups.
Mr. Brett received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University and has a Master of Management (MBA) degree from Northwestern University. His BA is from the University of Illinois.
Prior to forming his practice, Randall Brett was an associate with a major New Jersey labor law firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brett was Vice President for multinational corporations in several industries, often playing a key role in international operations. He has been a senior executive in two consulting companies.
Randall Brett is a former Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Section, a delegate to the General Counsel, and an active member of the New Jersey chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. Mr. Brett is frequently asked to serve as an evaluator and judge in state and national moot court competitions. He volunteers his time as a SCORE mentor and provides legal services to non-profit groups representing disadvantaged individuals and families, civic and arts organizations, and environmental/conservation interests.
