SCORE Volunteers Have a Wealth of Experience to Share

SCORE volunteers come from a wide array of backgrounds and industries, bringing extensive business experience and a strong commitment to helping small business owners thrive. This collective expertise fuels the success of local entrepreneurs and strengthens our communities.

Sharing Real-World Expertise

SCORE mentors help entrepreneurs by sharing their knowledge and real-world business experience and expertise. Last year alone, SCORE volunteers provided 4 million hours of critical, timely mentoring and education, supporting clients in navigating funding options, finding customers, responding to economic challenges and adapting daily operations.

You don’t have to be retired to volunteer with SCORE. Founded in 1964, SCORE originally stood for Service Corps of Retired Executives, but now we simply go by SCORE –  about half of our volunteers currently work as entrepreneurs and executives, and the other half are retired.
