High Impact Management, Julie Coffee
“I’ve updated my plan twice and having the plan has helped me meet goals, such as hiring employees and increasing revenue annually over the past six years,” Coffee reports.
“Put in the time to plan before starting your business,” she advises others. “Write a business plan and get someone with experience like SCORE to review it. Your business plan is your road map to where you want to go.”
High Impact Management is SBA 8(a) certified and an Oklahoma Department of Transportation disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE).
But a business doesn’t grow overnight. Coffee had to figure out how to market HIM’s services to the federal and commercial sectors. She also needed to hire qualified employees.
She turned to SCORE for help developing and reviewing her first business plan. Coffee worked with volunteer mentor Ronald Glass, who guided her through the business-planning process and ensured Coffee’s plan could be updated over the life of her business.
Julie Coffee launched High Impact Management in 2011 after building a distinguished portfolio of construction-management work in the Oklahoma City area. Coffee’s firm works with commercial and federal clients to offer construction management expertise, serving as the owner representative and managing every aspect of the scope of work.
