Highlighting here another of our Certified SCORE Mentors in the Northwest NJ Chapter, Barry Marks!

In his own words “I think my sweet spot is working with the client to help them better understand their personal and professional value proposition – where they can bring value to their customer or client and how to quantify the benefits they would deliver.”

After a career in the world of Information Technology, Barry had many roles that contributed to his success and ability to be a qualified Mentor for our clients.

Initially, as an electrical engineer, designing computers, he later moved into marketing for both AT&T and IBM, where he was responsible for developing marketing plans focused on key vertical segments. The next phase of his career was in consulting and market research where Barry worked with information technology companies (domestic and international) helping them develop strategic plans, business plans, marketing plans, and pricing. In 2005 he was a founding partner of a small consulting and market research firm.

After being introduced to SCORE, Barry joined to see how he could use his business skills and experience to help others start and improve their businesses. The thing he likes best about being a SCORE mentor is the variety of business issues that he can help with and the satisfaction he gets when the light bulb goes on for the client. We are thrilled Barry is part of our team and shares his business expertise with our many clients.
