Ask the Expert - Is It Time To Give Your Banker a Call?

With summer upon us, it is a great time to check in with your banker and update him or her on the 2024 results and your plans for 2025! Although tax returns may not be available yet, you probably have the year-end balance sheets and income statements, and you can be sure your trusted banker would be happy to take you to lunch and review the latest results.

Why share your results? Keeping your banker informed about how your business is doing allows them to step in and help if needed and will enable them to plan out approvals for anything coming up in 2025.  It also allows them to talk about an all-important topic: financial fraud! More and more clients are experiencing fraud, and your banker will have some updates on how to keep our business safe.

At the same time, there may be some bank services you have grown into that make day-to-day operations more efficient. Remote Deposit, Automatic Clearing House (ACH) systems, online banking, corporate credit cards and more. It’s also a great time to talk about Wealth Management, the future, and what we are all doing this important work for! The earlier, the better; give all trusted advisors time to get ahead of anything needing their attention. Establishing good communication with your outside advisors is as important as doing it with your employees.

When reaching out to your banker, don’t forget to contact your SCORE mentor! They also are interested in your progress and want to help!
