About Putnam County NY SCORE
SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow, and succeed nationwide.
SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and has been mentoring small business owners for more than forty years.
SCORE is a valuable network of 13,000+ volunteers who offer small business entrepreneurs confidential business counseling services at no charge. SCORE volunteers have the knowledge and experience to help any small business owner get the help they need. Our dedicated volunteers represent over 3,000 years of experience across 62 industries.
Founded in 1964, SCORE is headquartered in Herndon, VA and has 364 chapters throughout the United States and its territories. Here in Putnam County NY, our local Chapter has worked with thousands of local individuals, entrepreneurs and local business owners in private confidential, mentoring meetings and in group seminars and workshops. Clients and their mentors meet as many times as needed and there is never a charge for our services. We are staffed with volunteers from a variety of business backgrounds who are dedicated to assisting clients start their own business or to helping those already in business solve problems (cash flow, marketing strategies, finances, etc.) and/or achieve specific goals.
Individual private and confidential one to two hour mentoring sessions are held during the day on Monday and Thursday in Carmel, NY and on Fridays at the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce office. Other meeting times and places may be arranged.
