How Did Your Business Get Started?

SCORE client Jordan Yanco is building a dynamic business as a dialect coach.  He helps actors for TV and theater perfect their roles, improv, and stand-up comics make their accents more believable, and also teaches accent modification for those having trouble being understood.

Jordan credits his relationship with SCORE mentor Michael Snyder for the “exponential growth” his business has enjoyed since meeting in 2014.  “The first thing he asked me is what sets my business apart,” Jordan recalls. “What I liked most about Michael was that he asked the tough questions needed for me to define which areas to focus on.  He helped me understand what the mission was, and how to get my name out there.”

Today, Jordan teaches group workshop intensives, fun introductory workshops, and does private coaching in person or via Skype.   The demand keeps growing, and in just one year, he is ready to take his business to the next phase.  He is most excited to host an upcoming webinar in September with Backstage, one of the major resources used by actors to find roles.
