You don't have to watch the ABC hit television show, Shark Tank to see creative ideas from aspiring young entrepreneurs. Ten enrichment students from Mrs. Musielewicz's fourth grade enrichment class at Meadow Ridge School recently presented their new product ideas to parents and a panel of "sharks" to see if they would invest. All of the student ideas provided a solution to an everyday problem and included the Hanging Helper to organize household items, the Belt Buddy seat belt pad, the Easy Reader book light and book holder and a hip dog leash for large, strong dogs named the Wild Walker. Each student was challenged to create a new product that included a business plan, the cost of product production, distribution and a marketing plan.
Members of the SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) organization, served as the panel of judges asking questions about the products and offering additional suggestions. SCORE is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and aspiring entrepreneurs in forming and growing their businesses and making them successful.
