With the recent years of a fluctuating economy, local businesses have been contending with keeping their businesses profitable while still providing up to date goods and services.
In downtown Prescott, Martin Anthony, the owner of Superlative Salon and Day Spa Plaza, was looking for a way to spark some new life into his business.
He met with a Northern Arizona SCORE business counselor, who advised and counseled him through a more strategic business diversification approach. He then spent some time researching the market, exploring any unmet or underserved product and service needs in the community, and ways he could use his building spaces more effectively and efficiently. The result included the execution of subtle, yet significant changes that transformed his business model from a "traditional beauty-based salon and day spa into more of a holistic, wellness day spa," Anthony said.
