WASHINGTON, Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE – www.score.org – the nation's largest network of volunteer expert business mentors, has gathered statistics on the success of Small Business Saturday®. It was launched by American Express in 2010 to encourage people to shop at small, local businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

More awareness resulted in a boost in customers and sales for small businesses:
In 2012, 73.9 million shoppers spent $11.4 billion
In 2013, 76.6 million shoppers spent $14 billion
In 2014, 88 million shoppers spent $14.3 billion
