Starting a business can lead to many questions and if you don’t know where to turn, there are over 11,000 individuals that can help. Who you may ask? SCORE volunteer mentors.

SCORE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentoring. SCORE offers the nation's largest network of expert business mentors and best of all, their expertise and advice is completely free.

If you're just starting a business, SCORE mentors can provide the practical action plan, education and tools needed to open your business and establish a customer base. Already own a business? The SCORE volunteer mentors can help identify ways to increase profits, improve employee and customer satisfaction, and achieve the proper work/life balance. SCORE has over 340 chapters across the country and offers in-person, email and phone mentoring with volunteers in over 60 industries.

Additionally, each year SCORE mentors gather at the SCORE National Leadership Conference to learn and better equip themselves to help business owners develop and succeed. This year, we had the chance to hear from mentors across the country who told us who SCORE is, why you should seek a mentor and why they volunteer their time.
