Martin Baumann Joins SCORE Board of Directors
Business Leader Offers Wealth of Accounting & Management Expertise
Washington, D.C.—Martin Baumann of Manhasset, N.Y., joins the SCORE Board of Directors. SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" provides free small business mentoring, as well as low-cost workshops and seminars, to more than 300,000 aspiring and existing small business owners each year.
Martin Baumann has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, serving some of the largest U.S. and international banking, insurance and other financial clients. Since 2006, he has served as director of the Washington, D.C., Office of Research and Analysis (ORA) with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
Prior to that, he was the executive vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Freddie Mac, one of the largest financial institutions in the world. From 1969 to 2003, he was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world’s largest investment firms.
Baumann is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and he has memberships with several banking and insurance industry associations.
He is a nationally recognized leader and expert in accounting, financial reporting, disclosures, controls, corporate governance and financial management. Baumann is a frequent speaker and author of several publications
