Washington, D.C. — SCORE “Counselors to America’s Small Business” honors Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida with the 2010 SCORE Award for Congressional Support for Small Business. Wasserman Schultz is being honored for her dedication to small business and entrepreneurship, and support of volunteerism and SCORE.

Wasserman Schultz has been a stalwart champion of SCORE – especially during this past year when the growth of SCORE funding had been impacted by her diligence and efforts to see more services made available to small businesses through SCORE. She continues to be a major voice for small business in Congress and works tirelessly to advocate for legislation and programs that will benefit the economic engine of the U.S. economy – small business.

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, “Representative Wasserman Schultz has made a tremendous impact by supporting the success of small businesses across America, especially during a time of economic challenges. SCORE salutes her for her entrepreneurial advocacy and ongoing support of SCORE.” Yancey adds, “Entrepreneurs can use a mentor to help them recover from the recession. Representative Wasserman Schultz helps SCORE’s volunteer mentors make a difference in the lives of everyday entrepreneurs.”
