Dedra Johanneson Joins SCORE Board of Directors
Business Leader Offers Management & Mentoring Expertise to Support SCORE
Washington, D.C.—Dedra Johanneson of Scottsdale, Ariz., joins the SCORE Board of Directors. SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" provides free small business mentoring, as well as low-cost workshops and seminars, to more than 300,000 aspiring and existing small business owners each year.
Johanneson and her husband founded Johanneson’s of WI, Inc., where she served as president and CEO. The company owned a chain of supermarkets across Wisconsin. She also founded An Open Mind, Inc., which operated a training company and speakers bureau in the Fox Cities, Wisc., area. She developed and managed the business for eight years, serving as president and CEO.
Her company was successful in mentoring and training companies in the Fox Valley and surrounding communities. Clients included Kimberly Clark, Proctor & Gamble, Fox Valley Technical College, Ameritel Phone Company, Roundy’s, Good Humor Breyer, Farm Credit, and Presto Products.
Johanneson joined SCORE in 2004 as a volunteer business counselor. She has served in several leadership positions at the Phoenix SCORE office. In 2007, she received the Arizona Women in Business Champion of the Year Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
