SCORE received a great reception from the Brazilian Business Group at their recent meeting.
Chapter 17 Chairman, George Gremse, spoke about the support available to the Brazilian business community in South Florida.
The Broward SCORE Chapter is collaborating with the BBG to offer the 5 workshop program “Simple Steps for Starting Your Own Business” in Portuguese. The material is being translated and the series will start in January. SCORE Volunteer
Hector Arrillagas will teach the workshop. Marcia Maia of ACCION will assist with the workshops on finance & funding. Members of the BBG are translating the workshop materials into Portuguese.
To fulfill its mission to assist entrepreneurs and small business men and women to start, develop and grown businesses in Southeastern Florida Broward SCORE has been actively seeking partnerships that extend its reach into the different ethnic business communities.
George Gremse, Chapter Chairman, says of the rich cultural mix in South Florida “Through the affiliations with and the participation of organizations like Hispanic Unity of South Florida in Hollywood, The Hispanic Business Initiative Fund in Miami, and the Brazilian Business Group in Pompano Beach we have developed effective cross cultural programs. With the cooperation and participation of these organizations and by using bi-lingual volunteers we are able to reach past cultural boundaries to, mentor, teach, and work with some great entrepreneurs and business people”.
