Lippard retired after serving as Investment Manager of Time, Inc.’s Venture Capital Group, where she invested in high tech companies with board of director responsibilities for portfolio companies. She also served as Vice President, Director of Corporate Development, for Selling Areas-Marketing Inc. (SAMI), a division of Time, Inc., where she expanded SAMI’s lines of business and directed the acquisition of market research firms. During Lippard’s career, she provided consulting services to small and medium sized businesses for planning, funding and financial management.
Lippard joined SCORE in 1997, first in Hilton Head, S.C., where she served as both chapter vice chair and chair. After moving to California, she became an active volunteer mentor and leader at East Bay SCORE in Oakland. She also served as district director overseeing SCORE offices in the San Francisco area.
SCORE Board Chair Doug Kindred says, “Barbara Lippard's experience in venture capital analysis and finance, and as an executive at Time, Inc., bring a well-rounded view of business and fiduciary responsibility.” Kindred adds, “Barbara is an excellent addition as an officer of the SCORE Board. She is dedicated to SCORE mentoring and training and seeks to further SCORE's mission of service across America.”
