Cincinnati's business accelerator boosting women-owned companies has crowned its final winners for 2014 in a program that has doubled in size since its inception in 2010.

Bad Girl Ventures takes in classes of about 10 companies founded or run by women twice a year. Those companies are assigned a SCORE mentor and legal interns from Northern Kentucky University's Chase College of Law and the University of Cincinnati's College of Law. They undergo a nine-week program of mentoring and coursework after which the companies compete for a $25,000 low-interest loan.

The winner of the fall 2014 Bad Girl Ventures class and the loan is Norton Flooring, a full-service flooring company that sells floor covering, provides installation, carpet repairs and carpet cleaning.

Founder Erica Norton learned the industry though her father, a former U.S. Marine and certified floor installer.

Bad Girl Ventures' runner-up is All Care Navigators, a service for seniors that provides living placement, referral and concierge services. Owners Barbara and David Gunn are awarded a $5,000 low-interest loan.
