My primary strength is in the decision making involved with starting and growing a business. Two years out of engineering graduate school, with no business training, I became manager of an operating department in a fast-growing consulting engineering company. Subsequently I spent two years abroad and then joined a very small company similar to the one in which I began, as manager of its engineering activities. When the economy and unfortunate decisions by top management nearly bankrupted the company, I became CEO and ultimately helped grow it into a 400 person company with over 20 offices and practically no debt. Businesses succeed or fail with the strategic decisions of their management and I have vast experience in such decision making.
