I’ve worked with hundreds of startups and growing businesses in virtually every industry since joining SCORE in 2009. I will help you develop strategies to meet your desired goals. The general concepts necessary to start and grow a successful business are common to every business with nuances unique to each; therefore, I take a "generalist's" approach when working with my clients. I will direct you to educational opportunities or call upon subject matter experts to assist in specific needs. I can also point you in the proper direction if you need professional assistance beyond SCORE's scope of services.
I will help you define and understand your Business Model. This model works for all businesses, whether large or small, start-up or mature. You need to understand who your ideal customers are, what value you provide to these customers, what channels you use to market and distribute this value, and how to nurture relationships. Next you'll identify the activities, resources, and partners you need to make all this happen. Then you can analyze your cost structure and revenue streams. Looking at your business model from an outsider’s perspective, I will help you evaluate strategic alternatives moving forward.
I’ve worked in the corporate world, been a business consultant, owned a business, taught middle school, and have earned BBA, MBA, and MAT degrees. During my time with SCORE, I've led a variety of workshops, served as chapter chair for 2 years, and authored a biweekly business article in the Tennessean for several years. I consider myself a lifelong learner and and enjoy sharing what I've experienced and learned with my clients while continuing to acquire new knowledge from my association with SCORE and my clients.
