We’re blogging for one key reason: It’s the number one way Monmouth SCORE can attract the small business owners who need its guidance and the experienced people who volunteer their time in service to those businesses
This SCORE blog will be a walking example of how a small business can reach its customer base by putting out the relevant, helpful information its ideal clients need.
Our target audience falls into three categories:
- Bright entrepreneurs who need a business plan and some practical strategies for growth
- Established small business owners who need to reinvent to stay relevant
- Seasoned business people and retirees are ready to invest their knowledge back into the small business economy.
Every one of our blogs will seek to answer the questions, pains, and aspirations of these three targets.
So if you are starting or reinventing a business, this blog will be a source for answers to your questions. Plus, an example of how you can reach your ideal targets through great web content.
If you’re a Monmouth SCORE volunteer, this blog will be your vehicle to help more people than ever. It’s a platform for all the hard lessons, true tales, and the if-only-I-knew-then-what-I-know-now knowledge you’ve been keeping to yourself.
It’s a taste of inbound marketing, the kind of digital marketing that attracts prospects rather than broadcasting or advertising a message in a way you might tune out.

If you’re a SCORE member, share your knowledge. Writing a blog post is as easy as writing a letter to your younger self. Tell him how failure was a part of the journey. Tell her five things she should never say at a meeting. Give him answers to questions keeping him up at night, like how to close the deal, when to hire his first employee, and when to finally take a vacation.
