How I can help you
I can help your existing restaurant with business plans, financial projections, human resources and good management practices. As a mentor, I will ask lots of questions and carefully listen to your answers. I will suggest steps for going forward. Generally, my client will leave a mentoring session with a homework assignment.
I enjoy mentoring because I have FUN helping people succeed with their ambitions. Acting as a periodic advisor to assist small business owners solve real issues and continue to grow their business is very rewarding to me.
I have been a SCORE mentor since 2009, and I have provided advice to over 125 entrepreneurs. In 2017 I was an integral part of a six-member SCORE team (SWOT) that implemented procedures for a 225-member private restaurant to increase sales and reduce expenses while acheiving excellent service. I devoted 100% of my SCORE activities to this project during the 12 months it took to complete. During the Annual Awards Luncheon (Palm Beach) in 2015, one of my clients was presented with $5,000 for being the local SCORE Entrepreneur of the Year.
I have 35 years of experience managing various private golf/country clubs. Though my duties varied with each club, I have always been responsible for the F&B operations at each with millions of dollars in annual sales.
After living in Florida for most of my life, my wife and I recently moved to North Carolina to be near our grandchildren (Apex and Charlotte). I have transferred from the Palm Beach Chapter to the Raleigh Chapter.
