I began my professional career in public accounting, first at a member of the audit team and then in mergers & acquisitions. My initial clients were in banking, insurance, manufacturing and petroleum. M&A involved restructuring companies and either spinning them out or positioning them for sale. When I left public accounting, I joined the corporate world as a financial consultant and then as a member of the corporate team. The latter allowed me to work with several business units in preparing annual budgets and preparing quarterly reports about performance for senior management. Once again, I got involved with M&A activities but this time preparing detailed analysis for venture capitalists and investment bankers. When I left the corporate world, I started my own consulting firm and took on new clients in IT education & tools, medical technology and non-profit organizations.
Given my background, I can help SCORE clients as they prepare a business plan with alternative strategies for growth and determine what their likely cash flow from operations might be. In addition, I can provide some resources concerning market analysis, competition, product development and overall profitability.
