In 1953 Roger Hippsley graduated from the U.S. Army’s Engineer Officers Candidate School. In 1956 he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Iowa State University. He then embarked on a career that saw him serve as a public relations counsel with Eden & Associates, a corporate communications counsel with Young-Liggett Public Relations, and as director of communications and public relations with Centran Corporation and Central National Bank of Cleveland. He culminated his business career as senior counsel with Edward Howard, a public relations firm from which Roger retired in 2000. Throughout his business career, Roger held positions with a range of civic and social organizations. They included the Cleveland Post of the Society of American Military Engineers, which he served as president, Brecksville City Council and Planning Commission which he chaired, and the Family Health Association and Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland, both of which he served as a trustee. He also was a volunteer tract trekker for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Roger joined SCORE’s Cleveland Chapter in 2000. In 2007 he moved to Holmes County and in 2008 transferred to the Canton Chapter. He has established a chapter branch office in Millersburg.
