With over 40 years dedicated to the architectural profession I am broadly experienced in virtually every aspect of the design business. I worked my up through the ranks of a major NY firm ultimately becoming its Managing Partner. Along the way I established a Washington DC practice from scratch and built it to a 30 person office. Important areas of knowledge that I can share include: business development and marketing, strategic planning and developing new markets, managing an office to profitability, and preparing proposals, interviews and presentations. As a project director and then Managing Partner I learned about operating an office... but just as importantly, how to keep clients engaged and satisfied and how execute complex (and not so complex) projects. Although my experience is basically within the architectural world I think it is applicable to many different businesses, particularly with respect to design/creative professions.
