Kathryn was born and raised in Southern California and grew up in her family’s small business. Her Dad was her first business mentor, and he taught her a love for books and business, along with a strong work ethic. He also shared with her the importance of work / life balance, taking the family hiking in the summers and snow skiing in the winters (activities she still enjoys!).
After university, Kathryn went to work in Los Angeles for an international supplier of high temperature alloys to the aerospace and petrochemical industries. Over twelve years she engaged in every aspect of the business, working her way up through positions of increasing responsibility and authority to the Senior Management Team and finally to Vice President. It was a great education at a time when women were just making their way into the boardroom.
In the early nineties she relocated to Northern California and opened her own business – an independent bookstore - which she successfully lead for fifteen years. These were the years before Amazon became a force of nature, and electronic media became the preferred way to read books! Fast forward fifteen years, and she sold the turnkey business for a nice profit.
Kathryn and her husband then moved to Southern Oregon where she opened her own executive coaching practice, working with business owners around the world from a variety of industries. She retired in 2019, and in 2021 moved with her husband and Golden Retriever to beautiful Santa Fe.
Kathryn believes that the world can be changed…one small business at a time.
