My background is mostly in non-profit management as well as Human Resources. Volunteering has always been an important part of my life. I ran a Girl Scout troop when I was in college, then became a Peace Corps volunteer in Colombia (and learned to speak Spanish). Early in my career, I was the Executive Director of an economic development organization in Woodside, Queens, and I have been involved on the Boards of several non-profits, so I can assist with issues facing a non-profit organization. In HR, I help businesses develop fair company policies, team building, creating job descriptions, performance appraisals that work, benchmarking salaries, recruiting tips, organizational structure and handling difficult employees. Another area of experience is in running a large Customer Service call center.
