Bob brings a “triple play” of career experience to his mentoring having been involved in non-profit start-ups and management, corporate marketing management and as an entrepreneur.
He was the Executive Director of the Norwalk Seaport Association and Connecticut’s largest festival, Marketing and Communications Manager for 27 years for King Industries a specialty chemical company where he still consults and owned or partnered in a number of small businesses including the New England Brewing Company, Shorehaven Inn on Topsail Island,NC and Days of Futures Past Antiques & Collectibles.
Bob’s special expertise is in the field of Special Events and Tradeshow Marketing. He holds Diamond Level Certification in Tradeshow Marketing (Certified Trade Show Marketer) from Northern Illinois University and Exhibitor Magazine. In 2013 Bob was one of the first recipients of a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the CTSM Program and exhibition industry education. He has served on the faculty of Exhibitor Show and has taught marketing courses for the American Marketing Association.
Bob has a long history of volunteer non-profit community involvement having served as Board Member and Officer of the Milford Boys and Girls Club, the Norwalk Seaport Association, the Annual Milford Oyster Festival, the Norwalk Police Activities League and the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute Steering Committee. He and his wife Maryhelen have made Colington Harbour in the Outer Banks their home in 2013. Bob served on the Colington Harbour Association Board of Directors and is currently the Chair of the Outer Banks Chapter of SCORE.
