Currently President/Co-owner ACE Answering Service based in State College which my wife and I started in 1994. I have semi-retired in 2008. Previously I worked for an analytical instrument manufacturer as tech, field service and finally upper management for about 7 years. Prior to that I worked briefly with a small electronics firm in a production capacity. Retail sales and management in a large store and small specialty shops is also something I had done.
I am currently involved with several start-ups. One is a multi-use property development that has just entered its third phase and is doing very well. I was instrumental in getting the project off the ground from not only a business and financial perspective, but did about 18 months of grunt labor. My wife and I assisted my one daughter in purchasing and developing a service business in 2014 that is growing very well. I has also assisting my wife in starting a non-profit, however she received counseling from a SCORE mentor that specializes in non-profits. And finally, I purchased an auto shop, which I re-opened 6/15 for specialty car repair and restoration. Unfortunately, it is doing much better that I planned or wanted.
In addition - My wife and I have been managing a hunting lodge since 1993. This involves daily operations, property management functions, booking reservations, small scale "catering" and pretty much anything related that needs dealt with. Oh, and I play in a rock band.
Other than that my wife and I just hang out and watch TV and eat bon-bons all day.
Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, so never felt the need to spend money on post high school education. Did take 2 years of a Vo-Tech Electronics course in my last years of high school.
