What do you do?

Bailan Spice helps people save time in the kitchen and make healthy, delicious meals with African-inspired seasonings.

What inspired you to start your business?

Before Lenora moved to the U.S., she grew up in Cameroon with her grandmother. There she learned how to make beautiful spice blends. Once she came to the States, she found these spice blends were not easily accessible in grocery stores.

How SCORE helped.

After two hours of searching the SCORE website, Lenora felt ready to request a mentor. She knew that if she wanted to scale her product to be in multiple grocery stores, she would need some help. 

Without her mentor, Lenora felt she would not have scaled business as quickly as she had or received the funding to grow.

Bailan Spices has grown from having one product in a local farmer's market to having a range of products in multiple grocery stores, including larger-name grocers.
