In a corporate world that is highly regulated in this business-driven society, the role of a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)®  is indispensable. Their knowledge of relevant regulations and expertise in compliance processes assist companies in addressing legal obligations and promote organizational integrity through the operation of effective compliance programs.

Meeting Legal Obligations to Foster Ethical Behaviors Is Good Business

New SCORE mentor Linda Toth brings her knowledge and experience as a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)® and business capability developer to the service of the clients of SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon. Linda received her Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University. She had a distinguished 26-year career with Armstrong World Industries working in Information Technology, eBusiness, Process Improvement, and Corporate Communications. Linda also earned her Six Sigma Black Belt during this time.

“In all those areas, I was either building new or improved systems, tools, methods, and programs that helped the company achieve its goals.  When I started to work in compliance and ethics, I found that I needed to use the skills from all the other roles I’d ever had.”
- Linda Toth, SCORE volunteer mentor

In 2013 Linda accepted the position as Director, Global Compliance & Change Initiatives for Harsco Corporation, and by 2014 was made Vice President for Global Compliance & Ethics. Most recently, Linda Toth has become an entrepreneur and created RCE Services, LLC. This consulting firm helps “companies understand and manage the business or compliance risks that can derail their strategy, growth, and operations through risk identification and mitigation, compliance program development, and stakeholder engagement.”

Using Business Experience To Give Back To My Community

Since returning to the Lancaster area, Linda has been looking for ways to become more involved in her community.  She was also searching for a meaningful avenue to contribute her time and talents to a worthy organization.

“I had been aware of SCORE for several years as former colleagues had joined the organization.  The Lancaster-Lebanon chapter had always had an excellent reputation for the quality of the mentors and value it provides to clients.  After working outside of Lancaster for a few years, I began to feel somewhat out of touch with Lancaster and the local community.  At the same time, I knew I’d soon be leaving a volunteer position I had on a non-profit board, and so I wanted to find a new way to give back and also to get closer again to this community. SCORE seemed like the perfect way for me to use my past business experiences in a new way, helping people in my community.”

After joining the Chapter as a certified mentor, Linda has made some outstanding contributions to the SCORE Education Program and to supporting the work of the other mentors. We are deeply grateful to have a woman of her talents join our Chapter and assist in serving our SCORE clients.

“The Lancaster-Lebanon Chapter of SCORE does have an excellent membership.  It has been a great experience to get to know my fellow mentors and see the breadth and depth of their skills, plus their dedication to their clients.
It is inspiring to work with clients.  They have so much energy for their businesses.  It is a privilege to have someone invite you into their business because you realize this is their dream, or their passion, not just a job for them, so it is very rewarding to help them along in their efforts.”
- Linda Toth, SCORE volunteer mentor
