Dr. Elisabeth “Dr. Liz” Yaelingh-Scoffins is a fully licensed Clinical Psychologist who trained at Eastern Michigan University. She has worked in local group and individual private practice as well as several college and university counseling centers. Her research and teaching focus are Prejudice and Discrimination / Multicultural Psychology. Dr. Liz has been in practice since 2009, and now has her own office, Intersectional Life Counseling and Psychology in the beautiful, historic building next door to the Lancaster Public library at 135 North Duke Street in Lancaster City.
Since 2015 when Dr. Liz was still working at a clinic in York, she was preparing for the day when she would be in practice for herself by working with SCORE Lancaster-Lebanon mentor Jerry Glenn.

Dr. Liz’s work as a clinical psychologist with patients 18 and older also focuses on individuals from marginalized populations: the LGBTQ community, people of color, women, victims of domestic abuse, the financially marginalized. This sort of specialty is desperately needed during these stressful times and her SCORE mentor is strongly committed to her success.

There are plans to expand the scope of the services that Intersectional Life Counseling and Psychology provides in the future.
“Currently, I provide individual clinical work as well as community interventions and outreach such as trainings and presentations. I plan to develop my practice to include additional practitioners--possibly multidisciplinary--and to provide training and supervision to junior practitioners. I would like to be able to offer support to the community, through employment, therapy, community interventions, and signal boosting. I also hope to be an active part of connecting like-minded others within the community and beyond.” - Dr. Elisabeth Yaelingh-Scoffins
Dr. Liz’s mission of building Intersectional Life Psychology and Counseling as a strong support and resource for individual healing and community growth is a one that Dr. Liz’s mentor is fully dedicated to supporting. SCORE mentor Jerry Glenn is committed to joining Dr. Liz in this Journey every step of the way.
