Anakh Leadership Coaching LLC, Cindy M. Nelson
During my career in Human Resource Management, I felt limited in my ability to facilitate behavioral change in the workplace. I decided to pursue two coaching certifications to learn how to better help individuals make the changes they desired. Because of my background in Human Resources, I decided to create a business that specialized in coaching business leaders and professionals to help them identify and overcome their weaknesses in order to create a stronger leadership presence at work, at home, and in their communities.
This is my third year in business. It hasn't been easy getting the word out about what I do. The coaching industry is fairly new and a lot of people aren't clear on what it is exactly or what the benefits are. I am proud to still be practicing after three years. I'm also starting to receive requests to speak about the topics that I coach on. I am still optimistic that my business is needed and will continue to be successful in the future.
I really appreciate the energy at my local SCORE chapter. The individuals involved with SCORE are passionate about small businesses and achieving success. I truly feel that they are in it for the long haul for any small business owner(s) who are willing to stick with the process until success is achieved.
My mentor, Rudy Cherkasky, is very knowledgeable, kind-hearted, honest, direct, and patient. I couldn't ask for better traits when going through the ups and downs of starting a business. He listens to me, asks questions, and then offers advice. He is open to discussing new ideas and connecting me with resources he knows of to help me take the next step. I still meet with him occasionally to share my successes and challenges. He always offers me something of value during each meeting. I really appreciate his willingness to help me in my venture.
