These terms of service ("Terms") govern your participation in SCORE online and in-person events. Please read these Terms carefully before registering for or attending any SCORE event.
Event Registration
To attend a SCORE event, you must register through the official registration process.
Registration may be subject to approval, and SCORE reserves the right to refuse or cancel registrations at its sole discretion.
Event Conduct
Participants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally towards other participants, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and SCORE staff and agents. In addition, participants are expected to abide by all applicable local, state, and federal laws and the rules and policies of the venue or meeting platform.
Harassment or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. SCORE reserves the right to remove any participant engaging in such conduct without refund. This includes, but is not limited to, the misuse of any chat function available for the event.
Participants must respect the confidentiality and privacy of others. Participants must obtain explicit consent before sharing personal information or publishing any content, including photographs or recordings, that may identify or infringe upon the privacy of other participants, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and SCORE staff.
Event Content
All event materials, presentations, and content are the property of SCORE and/or its partners and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute, or use event content without the express written consent of SCORE.
Photography and Recording
Photography and recording of any kind (audio, video, or other) are prohibited without prior written consent from SCORE.
SCORE may capture photos and videos during the event for promotional purposes. By attending, participants grant SCORE the right to use their likeness in event-related materials.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Most SCORE events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. For paid events, cancellations made by participants are subject to the refund policy specified during the registration process.
SCORE reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify events. In such cases, SCORE will make reasonable efforts to notify participants in advance.
Privacy
By participating in SCORE events, you agree to the SCORE Privacy Policy, available on the SCORE website.
SCORE may share participant information with event sponsors for marketing purposes if participants opt-in during the registration process.
Code of Conduct
Participants must adhere to the SCORE Code of Conduct, available on the SCORE website.
Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.
Accessibility
SCORE is committed to providing accessible events for all participants. If you require accommodations to fully participate in the event, please contact SCORE at contactus@score.org or 1-800-634-0245 at least ten (10) business days prior to the event, if possible, and otherwise as soon as possible.
SCORE will make reasonable efforts to accommodate accessibility requests, but it is essential to notify SCORE in advance to ensure adequate preparations can be made.
The event venue will be selected, whenever possible, based on its accessibility for individuals with disabilities. If you encounter any accessibility issues during the event, please notify SCORE immediately.
SCORE will provide accessible materials and presentations, but if you require additional assistance or alternative formats, please inform SCORE in advance.
In the virtual event space, SCORE will strive to utilize platforms and technologies that support accessibility features. If you encounter any challenges, please contact SCORE for assistance.
SCORE welcomes feedback on how to improve the accessibility of its events. Participants are encouraged to share their suggestions and concerns by contacting SCORE at contactus@score.org or 1-800-634-0245.
Disclaimers
SCORE makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of event content.
SCORE is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property during the event.
Event content providers and speakers are not necessarily SCORE members or employees. As such, the opinions expressed in the content are solely the author's and do not reflect the opinions and beliefs of SCORE or its affiliates.
SCORE reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued participation in SCORE events constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Consequences
Any individual requested to stop any unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately, whether requested by SCORE staff, venue staff, or other participants.
At any SCORE event or meeting, SCORE leaders or staff (or their designee) may take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including the removal of a participant for any unacceptable behavior as described herein. If the behavior occurs during a virtual event, SCORE will take appropriate action, which may include deleting a post or comment, blocking a participant and severing communication with the blocked user.
Any unacceptable behavior may also be remedied by SCORE in a manner reasonably believed to eliminate the possibility of the behavior happening again, including, but not limited to, future curtailment of the violator’s rights to participate at events, as well as suspension/termination of membership.
Reporting Unacceptable Behavior
Any member or participant that is the subject of unacceptable behavior or witnesses any such behavior, please immediately notify contactus@score.org or 1-800-634-0245 so that appropriate action can be taken.
Any member or participant experiencing or witnessing behavior that at any time in their judgment constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety is advised to contact 911 immediately.
Consent Agreement
By registering for or attending a SCORE event, you agree to abide by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not participate in SCORE events.
