Leo’s Mercado in Marinette serves Hispanic population and more
Salina grew up in Marinette, but Eduardo immigrated to the area nine years ago from Mexico. Before the pandemic, Salina had an idea to open a Hispanic grocery store, but COVID hit, and they had to put their dreams on hold. That is until they talked with SCORE, a Green Bay nonprofit dedicated to small businesses. They were matched with a mentor that helped them through the business process. After their licensing, LLC registration and tax ID came through, they opened in July 2022 as the first Hispanic grocery store in the area.
