
Did you know the federal government has a goal to award at least 3% of all federal contracting dollars to HUB-certified small businesses each year. In order for your business receive one of these contracts from the government, you must get certified as a HUBZone. Criteria:
- Be a small business according to SBA size standards
- Be at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens, a Community Development Corporation, an agricultural cooperative, an Alaska Native corporation, a Native Hawaiian organization, or an Indian tribe
- Have your principal office located in a HUBZone
- Have at least 35% of your employees living in a HUBZone

Program Benefits: The government limits competition contracts to businesses in historically underutilized business zones. It also considers those businesses in full and open competition.
