About the event

Class #9 in the SCORE 11-class series on opening and running a childcare business in Texas. In this class, we help give you some helpful information about best practices for hiring and retaining your team. The class will be given by Lorie Baez, Owner & Director of My Time Kids Academy. Your host is Carrie Casey, owner of TexasDirector.org.

After the class, you are invited to stay on for an optional session with Shannon Black, who will share her experience in what works and what doesn't when writing "help wanted" ads for childcare.

If you are are seriously considering opening and running a childcare business, this entire 11-part series is for you. We focus on Texas, but almost everything you will hear applies anywhere in the US.

Classes are live every Tuesday night starting April 1. The last class is June 10. Each class will cover topics from finances to marketing to site selection to licensing. All the sessions will have guest speakers who are professionals in their field. You can register for some of the classes or all of them. If you are registered with the Texas Workforce Registry (TECPDS), we will display a QR code two times between 6:30pm and 7:30pm that you can scan to receive 1 hour CE credit for attending (but you don't have to be registered with them - anyone can attend these classes).

Please note: The classes in this series are only available live. No recording or materials will be distributed afterwards.
